Port of Centralia Launches New Multi-Use DevelopmentAmy Nile, The ChronicleNovember 16, 2012 The Port of Centralia is launching a new major development just south of the Mellen Street interchange aimed at bringing jobs, generating tax revenue and expanding business in the Hub City. The proposed 43-acre development on the south end of Long Road will take advantage of the new infrastructure being built as part of the Washington State Department of Transportation’s upgrades to Interstate 5. The multi-use development is being designed to combine major retailers, community college facilities, medical offices, tech warehouses, sports fields and attract other businesses to the area.
